Principal's Message:
To our wonderful Coral Community,
There is always excitement and a little stress at the beginning of a new school year, whether it is coming to a new school, just arriving from a PCS, or simply forming new friendships and relationships. Rest assured knowing that what our school does best is to support and uplift each other to support the success of all. Academics and rigor are essential, but that cannot be done without the connection our teachers and staff thrive on most when our students enter our doors each day. This connection starts at home and continues at school with every established relationship between teachers, staff, and students.
Let's do our best to support each other, practice patience, show grace, and remain positive to serve our students as best as possible.
Remember to be Falcons who practice…

Respect
Let’s all have an amazing year!
GO FALCONS!!
Your principal,
Miadora Nelson

Getting to Know Ms. Nelson...
I am excited to begin my second year as principal at Nellis Coral Acdemy! Prior to coming to Coral Academy, I served in education for 18 years in the Clark County School District in a variety of roles. I was the assistant principal at Lucille Rogers Elementary School and Hollingsworth S.T.E.A.M. Academy. Before entering school leadership, I was a learning strategist at Walter Long S.T.E.A.M. Academy supporting S.T.E.A.M. instruction. In addition, I taught second, fourth, and fifth grade for ten years at Walter Bracken S.T.E.A.M. Academy, the first S.T.E.A.M. elementary school in Las Vegas. I am also currently a part-time instructor for Nevada State University.
I am a native of Las Vegas, and I grew up by Nellis Air Force Base. I am a product of Clark County School District and a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I have earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education, a Masters in Mathematics Education, and a Masters in Urban Leadership from the University of Las Vegas Nevada. I spend my free time with my family of seven great children, ages ten to twenty, and a wonderful husband of 21 years. My family loves being on the water, whether it is swimming, kayaking, fishing, or boating, it is always great spending time outdoors!
I look forward to a wonderful year at Coral Academy. As a team, we will continue to grow and provide engaging and rigorous S.T.E.M. opportunities for our students.
